PURPOSE: A mood lamp apparatus for speed indication of vehicles and a speed indication method are provided to warn speeding by changing the color of a mood lamp. CONSTITUTION: A function switch(50) inputs a speed indication function. The speed indication function indicates the speed of a vehicle using a mood lamp. A speed sensor(10) senses a present speed of the vehicle. A speed indication control device(30) determines a lighting color of the mood lamp by analyzing speed and controls the lighting of the mood lamp by coping with the lighting color which is determined. The mood lamp visually indicates the speed of the vehicle according to control of the speed indication control device. A memory stores a determination data for determining the lighting color of the mood lamp.
