FIELD: physics. ^ SUBSTANCE: method employs the relationship between transmission (absorption) of linearly polarised bichromatic radiation with frequency difference of its components, tuned to resonance of coherent trapping of populations of defined Zeeman and ultra-thin sublevels of the ground state of 87Rb atoms, and the orientation of the magnetic field and the electric field vector of said radiation. The direction of the magnetic field is determined from the results of two measurements of resonance amplitude values corresponding to two different directions of the propagation vector of the radiation. ^ EFFECT: high accuracy of determining direction of magnetic field. ^ 3 dwg |
