<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control the fuel injection timing during engine start-up to the optimum injection timing without causing an excessively advanced angel or an excessively retarded angle, while quickly raising the engine rotation speed to improve startability. <P>SOLUTION: If it is determined that the engine speed is not rising but is stagnating or falling, a map value TFINmap of fuel injection timing is added with a correction value Δt so as to advance the fuel injection timing TFIN (S3), and then it is determined (S5) whether or not a rotation speed gradient after advancement has become greater than a rotation speed gradient before the advancement ((NE-NE0)/dt>0). If the engine speed is raised, the fuel injection timing is further advanced (S6), and if the gradient has become worse than the previous rotation speed gradient, the fuel injection timing is retarded by a correction value Δt (S8). This prevents occurrence of an excessively advanced angle or an excessively retarded angle of fuel injection timing, so that the engine rotation speed can be quickly raised to improve the startability. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
