<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a frame cyclic noise/distortion reduction system capable of reducing noise and distortion without spoiling a realistic gradation sensation owing to the noise. <P>SOLUTION: Each pixel value of an input image signal has a gradation represented with n-bit data. The data of a pixel value is shifted by m-bits by a m-bit shifter 127. The data of the pixel value is, after the processing of the m-bit shifter 127, provided to a (n+m)-bit multiplier 121 to be multiplied by (1-K), and then provided to a (n+m)-bit adder 122 to be added to the data of a pixel value processed by a (n+m)-bit multiplier 123. The (n+m)-bit multiplier 123 multiplies the data of a pixel value output from a (n+m)-bit frame memory 126 by K. The data processed by the (n+m)-bit adder 122 is stored in the (n+m)-bit frame memory 126 and provided to a bit length conversion unit 129 to be subjected to rounding and the like when truncating m-bits. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
