A control device for controlling a linear motor selects either constant speed control for moving a movable element at a constant speed, or acceleration control for accelerating the speed of the movable element, on the basis of a position command indicating the distance that the movable element is to be moved per externally inputted unit time. When constant speed control is selected, a current command indicating a current value to be applied to the linear motor is calculated on the basis of the average speed, which is the average speed of the movable part, and a speed command. When acceleration control is selected, a current command is calculated on the basis of the speed of the movable element and a speed command, and a current is applied to the linear motor on the basis of the calculated current command.
|
