<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air filter cleaning device that can securely support a case reciprocating together with a brush in a case in which a gravity direction is changed and a projection type video display apparatus that has the air filter cleaning device. <P>SOLUTION: An air filter cleaning device 3 comprises a brush for cleaning an air filter, racks 35 and 36 that are provided along a direction in which the brush reciprocates, pinions for engaging with the racks 35 and 36, and a case 41 that has the brush and reciprocates together with the brush. The racks 35 and 36 have side surfaces 35b and 36b, which face the case 41, respectively. The side surfaces 35b and 36b have grooves 35D and 36D, which function as a first engaging part, respectively. The case 41 has projections 41A and 41B for sliding engagement with the grooves 35D and 36D respectively, and the projections 41A and 41B function as a second engaging part. The engagement of the projections 41A and 41B with the grooves 35D and 36D restricts a movement of the case 41 in a direction orthogonal to a direction in which the brush reciprocates. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
