<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To separately recover a black toner and a color toner which are untransferred and remaining on an image carrier without adding a load on a drive source or a photoreceptor. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus is provided with: a first cleaning blade 51 and a second cleaning blade 61, both blades being movable between a press-contact position and a separated position with respect to an intermediate transfer belt 11; a first recovering unit 52 for reserving the untransferred toner removed from the intermediate transfer belt 11 by the first cleaning blade; a second recovering unit 62 for reserving the untransferred toner removed from the intermediate transfer belt 11 by the second cleaning blade 61. During forming a color image, only the first cleaning blade 51 is disposed at the press-contact position to remove each color toner from the intermediate transfer belt 11; and during forming a monochromatic image, only the second cleaning blade 61 is disposed at the press-contact position to remove a black toner from the intermediate transfer belt 11. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
