<p>Disclosed is an image projection apparatus, wherein the most natural motion to be taken by a user conducting a presentation, specifically a contacting motion such as touching the presentation screen is detected, and wherein the presentation screen can be manipulated by using the projected projection-face like a touch panel. The image projection apparatus is provided with: a projection unit (5) that projects an image on a projection face; an image pickup unit (1) that picks up the image projected by the projection unit (5); an image processing unit (2) that searches for an indicator within the image picked up by the image pickup unit (1), obtains the coordinates of the indicator found as a result of the searching using a conversion matrix, and estimates the distance between the image pickup unit (1) and the indicator using the obtained coordinates of the indicator; a distance measurement unit (3) that actually measures the distance between the image pickup unit (1) and the indicator; and an evaluation unit (4) that evaluates that the indicator is in contact with the projection face, when the distance between the image pickup unit (1) and the indicator estimated by the image processing unit (2) substantially matches the distance between the image pickup unit (1) and the indicator actually measured by the distance measurement unit (3).</p> |
