The present invention discloses a method and device for determining the user equipment (UE)-specific search space, both of which can obtain component carrier indexes, the relative location between each two physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) candidates of each component carrier at each aggregation level, and the relative location between the PDCCH candidates on the same index location between each two component carriers, wherein said index location indicates the number of the PDCCH candidate of each component carrier, and according to the obtained component carrier index and relative location information, determine the UE-specific search space for monitoring the PDCCHs. The method and device in the present invention both can determine the UE-specific search space in version release 10 (R10), and so can solve the congestion rate problem caused by multiple component carriers, thereby bringing convenience to practical application.
