The device i.e. charging device (10), has a socket (14) retaining a plug (22) of a cable (20), and two winding elements (16) partially winding the cable. The winding elements are formed in cylindrical or cone shape to exhibit an elliptic cross section area. The winding elements are arranged parallel to each other and placed in a recess (12) that is locked by a shroud (28). The winding elements are arranged adjacent to the socket, and comprise two end-side thickenings. The cable comprises another plug (32) that is electrically connected with a battery (34) of an electric car (36).
