PURPOSE: A peptide with antibacterial or anti-inflammatory activity and a pharmaceutical composition containing the same are provided to treat atopy, psoriasis, and arthritis. CONSTITUTION: A heparin binding epidermal growth factor-derived peptides with antibacterial or anti-inflammatory activity contains an amino acid sequence of sequence number 4. An antibacterial composition contains the peptides as an active ingredient. The antibacterial composition is used for treating dental infectious diseases. A composition for treating inflammation contains the peptides as an active ingredient.
