DIGITAL CAMERA USING MULTIPLE LENSES

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic camera and a method.

SOLUTION: A digital camera comprises: a first image sensor; a first wide-angle lens to form a first image of a landscape in the image sensor; a second image sensor; a zoom lens to form a second image of the same landscape in the second image sensor; a control element to select either a first sensor output from the first image sensor or a second sensor output from the second image sensor; and a processing section to generate an output image from the output of the selected sensor. In a deformation of this embodiment, a first lens can be the zoom lens and a maximum focal length of the first lens is equal to or shorter than a minimum focal length of a second lens.
