DATA DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM AND DATA DISTRIBUTION METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maximize the quality of received data within a range of allowable delay under delay restriction different for every distribution destination in real time data distribution in multi-cast environment.

SOLUTION: A receiver 20A outputs a received packet while delaying by a reception buffer 21 until a predetermined time elapses after time stamp. When a discarded packet is detected in the receiver 20A, a retransmission request means 23 determines a timing of transmitting a retransmission request for the discarded packet from the time until that packet is output and a reciprocation delay time estimated by a delay estimation means 24. When reception of a retransmission packet is too late for the time of outputing that packet, the retransmission request is cancelled.
