<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface treatment device capable of defective inspection. <P>SOLUTION: By making the material of a contact surface of a vessel 1 and an electrode 2 with a workpiece harder than the workpiece, the electrode 2 is prevented from being damaged and generation of residues is prevented. By providing a device with a structure to block the atmosphere, adverse effect to quality due to changes in atmosphere condition is prevented and variation in corrosion resistance is prevented. For the residue of the workpiece, the interior of the vessel is inspected by a metal detection device 4 for all lots using a dedicated minus electrode.
