摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a negative electrode enhancing charge-discharge efficiency and its manufacturing method; and to provide a battery using the negative electrode. <P>SOLUTION: The negative electrode 22 is formed by arranging a negative active material layer 22B on a negative current collector 22A. The negative active material layer 22B contains negative active material particles comprising a negative active material containing at least one of silicon and tin as a constituent element. An oxide-containing film containing at least one kind selected from the group comprising silicon, germanium, and tin is formed by a liquid phase method such as a liquid phase deposition method in a region coming in contact with an electrolyte out of the surfaces of the negative active material particles. The region coming in contact with the electrolyte out of surfaces of the negative active material particles is covered with the oxide-containing film to increase chemical stability of the negative electrode 22 to improve charge-discharge efficiency.
