The device (12) has a vertically arranged holder (14) comprising an upper rectangular recess for accommodating a locking flap (15) in an area of a rear wall. The holder has a lower round recess for accommodating a fastening unit. The locking flap has a mounting element for fixing the locking flap in the upper recess in a pivotably movable manner in a mounting condition. The locking flap has a locking latch that is arranged at a distance to the mounting element, where the locking device is fastened to a flange (8) that is fixed to a spindle bank (5) of a textile machine.
