PURPOSE: A connector for a card is provided to secure a sufficient strength and reduce the thickness of the connector. CONSTITUTION: A connection terminal(11) is buried in a housing(2). A slide member(6) slides into a housing in an insertion direction of a card. A discharge spring(7) presses the slide member in a discharge direction of the card. A lock device(23,24) resists the force of the discharge spring. The lock device locks the slide member at a card mounting position in the housing. A metal member in contact with the slide member is installed in the opening of the housing.
