<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent deformation of the outer side wall of a chip fitting recess provided on the distal end of a jaw and to improve durability of the jaw. <P>SOLUTION: The chip fitting recesses 22 are formed on both sides of the distal end of a movable jaw 4 provided so as to be freely opened and closed relative to a fixed jaw, and to each of the chip fitting recesses 22, a shearing chip 23 for shearing an object A to be cut with the distal end of the fixed jaw is fitted and fixed by fastening a bolt 30. On the outer side wall 32 of the chip fitting recess 22, a first flat surface 33 inclined outward relative to the inner side face 23a of the shearing chip 23, an inclined surface 34 inclined oppositely to the first flat surface 33, and a second flat surface 35 roughly in parallel with the inner side face 23a of the shearing chip 23 are provided. In the meantime, the shearing chip 23 is provided with an abutment surface 38 and a damping surface 39 facing the first flat surface 33.
