<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a server system and a BIOS restoration method capable of providing assured BIOS restoration means with low cost using a BMC mounted on a general server system. <P>SOLUTION: A server system includes a system 100a having a CPU 103a, a BIOS ROM 102a storing BIOS data, a BMC 200a, a memory 108a used by the BMC, and an access switching circuit 400a switching connection between the BIOS ROM and the system or the BMC. The BMC reads out the BIOS data of the BIOS ROM to the memory before the system is started up. When the BIOS data of a first server 110a has a fault, the BMC 200a of the first server requests a BMC 200b of a second server 110b for BIOS restoration data, and receives the BIOS restoration data transmitted from the BMC 200b of the second server 110b to write back to the BIOS ROM 102a of the first server 110a. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
