IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus for suppressing unnecessary power consumption during a shift from a power-saving mode to a normal mode.

SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: an image forming part for processing image data input from an image input part and outputting the data to an image output part; an operating panel including an operating key and a display part; an operation control part for operating a unit including the image forming part in the normal mode and in the power-saving mode having a smaller power consumption than the normal mode; and a mode control part for releasing the power-saving mode when release keys including a first key and a second key of the operating panel are operated at timing registered in advance and the power-saving mode is released to return to the normal mode.
