<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive water-proof cable that can surely prevent running of water under water immersion. <P>SOLUTION: A cable unit 10 as a water-proof cable provided to a charging cable 1 has plural electrical wires 11, a sheath 14 as a coating part for accommodating the electrical wires 11, an intercalation member 12 which is filled in the cross-sectional direction between the plural electrical wires 11 and the sheath 11 and is provided over the whole length of the cable unit 10, a water cut-off tape 13 wound around the intercalation member 12 while pressed against the intercalation member 12, and a sheath 14 which is closely laminated on the water cut-off tape 13. The intercalation member 12 has normal intercalation parts 12a and water cut-off intercalation parts 12b which are alternately arranged over the whole length of the cable unit 10. The water cut-off intercalation parts 12b have a water absorbing and expanding property. Therefore, the water cut-off intercalation parts 12b absorb water immersed in the cable unit 10 to prevent running of water, and also expand to further prevent running of water. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
