<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for tracking the proximity of the foot of a user. <P>SOLUTION: A capacitance input device 200 includes a mat 204 and a probe 202. The mat 204 has a dielectric layer 208 interposed between a common conductive layer 210 and a conductive layer 206 having a pattern. The conductive layer 206 having the pattern includes a lattice pattern including a plurality of conducive areas 212. Each conductive area 212 is selectively coupled with a corresponding capacitance sensor 214, and the capacitance sensor 214 is configured to respond to a signal coupled with one corresponding conductive area 212 like a capacitance. The probe 202 is configured so as to be mounted on the foot of the user, and to change the capacitance coupling of the signal.
