PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To specify a topology even if an inexpensive device is used in a home network.

SOLUTION: A topology specifying apparatus for connecting to a home network a HTIP compatible device connected thereto, the HTIP compatible device including a network device agent for sending own device information and connection configuration information or an end terminal agent for sending own device information, comprises; a receiving unit 101 for receiving connection configuration information and device information from the network device agent and receiving device information from the end terminal agent; and a manager unit 104 for specifying a topology in a network by obtaining aggregation G of the whole terminals which is an inclusive term of a network device and an end terminal and a set of aggregation Ent of two or more terminals connected directly thereto each other based on the connection configuration information and the device information received by the receiving unit 101 to specify a topology in the home network.
