#CMT# #/CMT# The method involves filling a tool cavity with a foaming material and a reinforcement material such as reinforcing fiber e.g. glass fibers, carbon fiber, aramid fiber, boron fiber, metal fiber and calcium titanate fiber. The foaming material is foamed in a preferential direction, and a foamed mold part is removed, where the foaming material contains a matrix material selected from a group consisting of plastic, metal and ceramics. The mold part is processed, where a preferential direction of foaming lies perpendicular to a propagation direction of the foaming material in the tool cavity. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# Method for manufacturing a mold part such as fiber-reinforced plastic foam e.g. A-column, B-column, C-column or D-column, heat insulation material and sound insulation material, in a cladding part (all claimed) in a body construction of an automobile. Can also be used for manufacturing a mold part in an inner region i.e. display console, of an automobile, and as a packaging material or a cushion material. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The foamed mold part is processed, where the preferential direction of the foaming lies perpendicular to the propagation direction of the foaming material in the tool cavity, thus manufacturing the fiber-reinforced plastic foam in a preferential fiber direction and improving mechanical stability in a simple and cost-effective manner. #CMT#DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS : #/CMT# The drawing shows a schematic illustration of a process of filling a cavity with a solved foaming agent. #CMT#POLYMERS : #/CMT# The matrix material consists of plastic selected from a group consisting of polyurethanes, epoxy resins, phenol resins, urea-formaldehyde resins, polyesters, polyamides, polyolefins, polystyrenes, styrene acrylonitrile copolymers and acrylonitrile butadiene styrene copolymers or thermoplastic resin. |
