PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monitoring method for a dose rate capable of accurately measuring the dose rate of a radiation detection object in which liquid containing a radionuclide flows during operation of a radioactive substance handling facility.
SOLUTION: Radiation detectors 1A, 1B are arranged near a pipe 12 in which reactor water of a nuclear power plant flows. The detectors 1A, 1B detect γ-ray (cascade γ-ray) 17 which is radiated from a nuclide to be measured (Co-60) 9 adhering to an internal surface of the pipe 12 and background γ-ray 18 which is radiated from a short half-life nuclide (N-16) 10 in reactor water in the pipe 12 during operation of the nuclear power plant. Energy discrimination units 4A, 4B output γ-ray detection signals of 0.4-2.0 MeV among γ-ray detection signals from the detectors 1A, 1B. A coincidence processing unit 5 coincidentally counts based on the γ-ray detection signals from the energy discrimination units 4A, 4B and generates coincidence signals. A radiation arithmetic unit 6 calculates a pipe dose rate based on the coincidence signals.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
