MEASUREMENT SUPPORT FOR A SMART ANTENNA IN A WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

PURPOSE: A measurement support method with respect to a smart antenna within a wireless communication system is provided to effectively measure the intensity of a signal from a beam or directional antenna. CONSTITUTION: A measured packet transmission apparatus(916) is connected to a measured packet request apparatus and a transmitter/receiver(912). A measured packet analysis apparatus(918) is connected to the transmitter/receiver. A beam change apparatus(920) is connected to the transmitter/receiver, measured packet transmission apparatus, and measured packet analysis apparatus. A measurement report analysis apparatus(922) is connected to the transmitter/receiver and beam change apparatus. A measured packet request receiving apparatus(934) is connected to the transmitter/receiver.
