PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce more electric power consumption of an imaging apparatus which performs location positioning.

SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus includes a location positioning sensor which performs location positioning by using initialization information and can go into standby and photographing states. The imaging apparatus comprises: initialization information means for continuously obtaining the initialization information in the standby state and recording the initialization information, and positional information means for continuously obtaining positional information which is the result of the location positioning in the photographing state and recording the positional information.
