<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for arranging a marker to achieve a reduction in tracking error in an on-site operation support system. <P>SOLUTION: An on-site operation support system comprises line markers 5a and 5b positioned in a work site in advance, cameras 1a to 1c carried by an operator, a HMD2 which provides the operator with an image of the work site and instruction information by displaying them thereon, an information processing apparatus 3 which measures a position and a direction of the camera (operator) based on image positions of the line markers in photographic images obtained by taking pictures of the work site with the cameras and performs information processing for displaying an information image to be given to the operator on the HMD with the image of the work site superimposed thereon. Positions of the line markers are determined as a position where line marker positions can be calculated repeatedly to reduce errors, by (1) estimating a range of errors included in a code mark obtained by the image processing and (2) estimating tracking errors in a variety of line marker arrangements using results obtained from (1), an error calculation method, and a genetic algorithm. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
