PURPOSE: A method for stabilizing glabridin is provided to prevent oxidative decomposition of glabridin and denaturation and discoloration of a cosmetic product. CONSTITUTION: A method for stabilizing glabridin comprises: a step of dissolving chitosan in acid to prepare a solution 1; a step of dissolving glabridin in a solvent to prepare a solution 2; a step of mixing the solutions 1 and 2. The acid is acetic acid, lactic acid, formic acid, formic acid, hydrochloric acid, or nitric acid. The solvent is alcohol, ethyl acetate, or acetone. The chitosan is N-acylated chitosan such as N-propionyl chitosan, N-butytyl chitosan, or N-hexanoyl chitosan.
