[Class 22] Basic refractory materials for lining metallurgical furnaces or for repairing the linings consist of a crude basic mineral such as dolomite in particle sizes suitable to obtain a compact mass, a flux selected according to the products to be treated in the furnace, such as scale from steel works, red mud from the treatment of bauxite, ground chromite, and an agglomerating agent such as an aqueous solution of an alkaline silicate or metasilicate. If the flux has no binding action kaolin clay or other refractory binding agent may be added. |
