Disclosed is a compound which enhances the activity of neurotrophic factors and exerts a protective action on nerve cells. Specifically disclosed is a compound represented by formula (I), a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof or a solvate thereof. In the formula, Z represents N or C-R2; X represents N-R3, O or S; Y represents C-R4 or N; R1 represents a hydrogen atom, an optionally substituted non-cyclic hydrocarbon group or an optionally substituted cyclic group; R2 represents a hydrogen atom, an optionally substituted non-cyclic hydrocarbon group or an optionally substituted cyclic group; R3 represents a hydrogen atom or a substituent; R4 represents a hydrogen atom or a substituent; ring A represents an optionally substituted benzene ring; and ring B represents an optionally substituted benzene ring.
