<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus, capable of appropriately transmitting the information of the apparatus when requested, even if in the power saving condition, thereby lowering power consumption. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is operable in a temporary intermediate return condition 154 or in an energy saving condition 152. The apparatus includes: a large capacity HDD 64 storing the apparatus information; a flash memory 70; a power supply in which in the state 154 of a temporarily middle reset, power is supplied to the large capacity HDD 64 and the flash memory 70, and which supplies power only to the flash memory 70 in the state 152 of energy saving; a sub controller 74 for retrieving the apparatus information corresponding to a request about the apparatus information, when receiving the request, from the flash memory 70, and for replying the information; and a system controller 62 for returning the image forming apparatus to the temporary intermediate return condition 154, when failed in retrieval by the sub controller 74 in the energy saving condition 152, and retrieving and replying the apparatus information from the large capacity HDD64. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
