<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a remote control system for illumination such that a user carries a remote controller for emitting a visible light and easily specifies an irradiation position of the illumination light at an arbitrary position apart from the user. <P>SOLUTION: A remote control system 1 for illumination has a lighting fixture 2 in which the irradiation direction of the illumination light is changeable, and includes a remote controller 3 which emits a visible light, a direction sensor 32 which detects the irradiation direction of the visible light emitted from the remote controller 3, and a position sensor 5 which detects position coordinates of the remote controller 3. The lighting fixture 2 irradiates with the illumination light a position specified based upon the position coordinates of the remote controller 3 detected by the position sensor 5, the irradiation direction of the visible light detected by the direction sensor 32, and an optionally set unit length.
