<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biochip which overcomes problems of nylon material, namely, the problem that sensitivity is not sufficient, the problem that an amount of a substance deposited on nylon and a surface area are not proportional, the problem that measurement is hindered due to autofluorescence as the background in detection using fluorescent emission, and the problem that quantitative measurement is impossible due to these factors. <P>SOLUTION: An array of a plurality of kinds of inorganic or organic substances has the inorganic or organic substances fixed on a strand-shaped carrier having a metal surface, and different kinds of inorganic or organic substances are fixed in different positions of the metal surface of one strand-shaped carrier.
