Provided is a fireproof construction that is especially suited for ships in which rolling/pitching and vibration are to be generated, and wherein a possibility of falling off thereof is nonexistent, the weight thereof is light, workability thereof is excellent, changes in the design thereof can be easily accommodated, and adding of cables thereto is easy. The fireproof construction (1) is comprised of a fire wall (3) that is a partitioning section mainly for partitioning the rooms; an opening (5) formed on the fire wall (3); a plurality of cables (7) wired through the opening (5); and sealing members (11) and a fire prevention filler (13) formed so as to fill the gap between the inner face of the opening (5) and the cables (7). The plurality of cables (7) are inserted through the opening (5). The block-formed fire prevention filler (13) is filled into the gaps between the opening (5) and the cables (7), in the vicinity at approximately the center of the opening (5) in the inserting direction of the cables. The fire prevention filler (13) has a ceramic fiber blanket (17) that is noninflammable material formed therein, and the outer circumference thereof is covered with cover material (15).
