<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable electronic apparatus which can improve the security of information stored in a memory medium. <P>SOLUTION: A timer 80 starts timing when a battery lid 2c is detected to be removed by a detachment detection part 70. A judgement part 102 judges whether or not such password information as a personal identification number has been input by an operation key group 11 within a lapse time T1 set by a time setting part 101. An access control part 103 controls access to a card 40a, that is, the access control part 103 maintains the access to the card 40a available when the judgement part 102 judges that password information has been input within the lapse time T1.
