PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus capable of changing a point where a line image is acquired in an inspection target, in accordance with the change of the inspection target with ease.

SOLUTION: An image processing apparatus 1 has a setting storage part 18 in which setting data indicating a position of an extracted line in an area image is stored. An image capture part 11 captures a line image on a line designated as the extracted line from a camera 2 according to a capture condition indicated by the setting data in the setting storage part 18. A parameter acquiring part 19 communicates with an external device 5 using a first communication part 21 and a second communication part 22 to acquire a first parameter corresponding to the inspection target under inspection from the external device 5 as a parameter representing the position of the extracted line in the area image. The parameter acquiring part 19 sets the position of the extracted line represented by the acquired first parameter as the setting data to the setting storage part 18.
