摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To raise an arrangement density of cells. <P>SOLUTION: A plurality of cells 11 are arranged in a line along a direction of an arrow A. Each cell 11 has a sensor area 12 including atoms therein. The sensor area 12 of each cell 11 is disposed in a position which probe light passing sensor areas 12 of the other cells 11 doesn't pass. In each cell 11, through passages 13 piercing the cell 11 in the direction of the arrow A are formed in positions which probe light passing the sensor areas 12 of the other cells 11 passes. Irradiation parts 31 to 34 irradiate respective sensor areas 12 with probe light having a linearly polarized component, along the direction of the arrow A.
