<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wavelength selection switch having multiple ports with one wavelength selection switch without using multiple wavelength selection switches. <P>SOLUTION: A wavelength selection switch comprises: light input/output portions arranged in an array shape in the first direction and having an input portion and an output portion of a wavelength multiplexing light; optical dispersion means for separating the wavelength multiplexing light input from the input portion to respective signal wavelengths; a condensing element for condensing light that is separated to the respective signal wavelengths; and an optical deflection element array for deflecting signal light in the first direction so that the respective signal wavelength light that is condensed by the condensing element to be switched to a desired output portion. When m is an integer, the input portions are separated into m groups, and m optical deflection element arrays are arranged in the first direction to correspond to the m groups of input portions.
