<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner provided with an electric motor capable of elongating a service life. <P>SOLUTION: This vacuum cleaner 1 includes a cleaner body 2 generating a suction force, and a suction device 10 communicating with the cleaner body 2. The suction device 10 includes a rotary cleaning body 110 for cleaning a surface to be cleaned, and the electric motor 120 generating a power for rotating the rotary cleaning body 110; and the electric motor 120 includes a core 124b, a housing covering the core 124b and having a substantially oval cross-section, and a brush section 127 disposed at an axial end part of the core 124b. The brush section 127 includes at least two brushes 127b, when being viewed from the axial direction of the electric motor 120, at least the two brushes 127b are disposed on a diagonal of the substantially oval shape of the housing, and the outer peripheral end face 127c of each brush 127b is configured to locate at the outer peripheral side of the substantially oval shape of the housing and at the inner peripheral side of a quadrangle T in which the substantially oval shape of the housing is inscribed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
