The device comprises an insertion unit (213) for inserting or application of a predetermined amount of pollution into or on a testing container, and an infiltration unit for infiltration of the testing container in the container treatment plant. A determining unit is provided for determining the remaining amount of pollution after cleaning the testing container with the cleaning device. An independent claim is also included for a method for testing the cleaning efficiency of a cleaning device.
