<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which achieves sure positioning of an optical writing device and facilitation of replacement of a process cartridge. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus has a moving mode in which the optical writing device separates from a positioning part provided in the image forming apparatus, whereby an opening/closing part gets in a closed state first while preventing the optical writing device from directly colliding with the positioning part provided in the image forming apparatus when closing the opening/closing part, and then the optical writing device is positioned at the positioning part provided in the image forming apparatus by a moving means. As a result, the image forming apparatus achieving the sure positioning of the optical writing device and the facilitation of replacement of the process cartridge is obtained. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
