A reinforced laminated insulating panel (1) for insulating a structure includes a facing panel (2) of gypsum based board, at least one layer of an aerogel fibre composite (4, 5) and panel reinforcing means (3,12,24). The panel reinforcing means can be provided by using a facing panel of a reinforced gypsum based board material (24). The insulating panels may include a reinforcing member of a stiff sheet material such as plywood as reinforcing means (3). Wall and ceiling systems using the insulating panels and a method for insulating a building structure are also provided. |
