PURPOSE: A polymer or polymer-composite material-based membrane with through thickness micro-pores and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to improve the permeability of the membrane by one-directionally freezing polymer. The solidified material through the freezing process is frozen and dried to obtain the membrane. Through thickness micro-pores are arrayed in a mesh shape. The polymer is selected from a group including fluorine-based polymer with C-F bonds and hydrophobic polymer.
