PURPOSE: A dust collector and an electric cleaner are provided to easily remove the dust by preventing the flying of dust through the covering of dust. CONSTITUTION: A dust collector comprises a case member, a filter(66), a cover and a retention support. The case member comprises an inlet(59), an outlet and a dust discharging port(58) located between the inlet and outlet. The case divides the wind passage communicating the inlet and outlet in inside. The filter is arranged between the inlet and outlet of the case member. The cover opens and closes the dust discharging port of the case member. The dust discharging port is closed with the cover. The filter which is a sheet-shape is held and supported from upstream while covering the upstream of the filter. The dust discharging port is opened with the cover and the filter is drawn to the outside of the dust discharging port through the retention support.
