摘要 PURPOSE: A compact cogeneration system and a control method thereof are provided to reduce costs for operation of a compact cogeneration system by connecting thermal medium channels of a cogenerating device and a boiler to use the waste heat collected from the cogenerating device for both heating and hot water supply. CONSTITUTION: A compact cogeneration system comprises a cogenerating device(100), a boiler(200), and a thermal medium storage tank(300). The cogenerating device includes a waste heat recovery heat exchanger(110) for collecting waste heat produced when generating electricity. The boiler comprises a main heat exchanger(210), a burner(220), and a combustion fan(230) for providing air to the burner. The thermal medium storage tank stores a thermal medium to be circulated and is connected to the waste heat recovery heat exchanger of the cogenerating device. The thermal medium storage tank comprises a temperature sensing part for measuring the temperature of stored thermal medium and a control part which activates the combustion fan to supply air to the thermal medium passing through the main heat exchanger when the measured temperature of thermal medium is over a first set temperature.
