APPARATUS FOR REMOVING A PASSIVE INTERMODULATION DISTORTION AND METHOD THEREOF

PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for removing a PID(Passive InterModulation) distortion are provided to generate a digital PIM signal by synthesizing a converted digital signal. CONSTITUTION: A PIM filter unit(306) generates a virtual PIM signal by using a filter coefficient from a PIM filter coefficient updating unit and a component of a digital PIM signal generated by a PIM synthesizer. The PIM filter unit filters the virtual PIM signal by using the filter coefficient. A frequency converter(307) transfers the frequency of the virtual PIM signal filtered in the PIM filter unit to a baseband frequency of a receiving signal. A PIM removing unit(308) removes a PIM distortion element from a digital receiving signal of the baseband by using the virtual PIM signal transferred by the frequency converter.
