<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hairdressing chair configured so that a space between the hairdressing chair moved up and down by a parallel link mechanism and a shampoo bowl can be easily adjusted, when the chair is raised and retreated relative to the shampoo bowl, by providing a section in which a seat portion is raised and retreated and a section in which the seat portion is raised while preventing the retreat thereof by forward/backward movement prevention means. <P>SOLUTION: The hairdressing chair 10 includes a raising and lowering unit 30 provided with a parallel link 40, and is configured to displace the parallel link 40 by a drive source 80 to raise and retreat the seat portion 17 supported by the raising and lowering unit 30 toward the shampoo bowl 91. The raising and lowering unit 30 includes the forward/backward movement prevention means 60 for preventing the seat portion 17 from being retreated while the seat portion 17 performs the rising and retreating motion.
