A method of providing location-based service using a mobile communications device registered for the service, the method including: receiving at a location, by at least one application on the mobile communications device, information for connecting the mobile communications device to a wireless network via a base station at the location; connecting the mobile communications device to the wireless network at the location; connecting the application via the wireless network and the base station to a system providing the service for which the mobile communications device is registered.
