The device comprises: a body (2) that defines a storage compartment (4), said compartment (4) having a rear wall (4a) and a lateral wall (4c) that extends vertically; a first connecting piece (72) that lies exposed in the storage compartment (4) and is in fluidic connection with an air evacuation device (70); and a low-pressure storage unit (7) having a storage chamber (32) from which air can be evacuated, which is constructed independently of the body (2) and is accommodated in the storage compartment (4). The low-pressure storage unit (7) has an evacuation channel and the evacuation channel has a second connecting piece (39) for a fluidic connection to the first connecting piece (72). According to one embodiment of the invention, the first connecting piece (72) extends from the lateral compartment wall (4c) into the storage compartment (4).
